Maral Otte is an interdisciplinary artist and violinist, born in Tehran in 2001. Raised in a creative household shaped by her mother's background in fine arts, she began studying classical violin at the Tehran Conservatory and earning her Violin performance Bachelor's degree at Yaşar University in İzmir, Turkey — graduating as the top student of the music department, where she studied violin under Zehra Sak Brody and music form and analysis with Füsun Köksal.

After completing her degree, Maral shifted her focus toward contemporary and digital art, continuing her artistic studies at the Hochschule für bildende Künste (HFBK) Hamburg. She began her first year under Abel Auer and now she study time-based media with Kader Attia, going on to explore sculpture, installation, video, and interdisciplinary practice. Her current work moves into new materials — stained glass in the Tiffany technique, alongside wood and clay.

Her artistic journey is rooted in the intersection of sound, light, and human perception. Years of performing as a violinist in orchestras and chamber ensembles, and working across artistic disciplines, have shaped her distinctive visual language — one drawn from rhythm, movement, sculpture, and storytelling.

Her video artwork Unlimitation in Limitation was selected for THE BODY LANGUAGE 2025 exhibition, curated by Luca Curci and presented by ITSLIQUID Group in collaboration with ACIT Venice at the historic Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello in Venice, Italy.

Alongside her artistic and musical practice, Maral is the founder and designer of Gelbfenster, an independent jewelry and accessories brand based in Hamburg, shipping worldwide. Built on the belief that what we wear is an extension of who we are, Gelbfenster creates wearable pieces that favor individuality over convention — a philosophy captured in its tagline, Find Your Character.
